We give birth to all things, and the seeds are in our hearts, our desire. Rilke’s waiting is not the passive waiting we ordinarily think of; his is an active spirit, a desire aligned with a generosity unencumbered by fear, shame, or other afflictive emotions. Your new drawing speaks to this waiting, as the seed grows in the heart and emerges in a green effulgence, upward through the throat where the voice will give it expression. IVD gives this creative pulse expression in such a playful and safe way. I love how in your drawing the energy is contained and cradled in the green calyx, as if to protect the waiting. That center is the center of all creativity and enlightenment and the future is there, as Rilke and you intuitively observed, because, as we begin to free ourselves from the negative afflictive emotions that bind us, what else is there but the freedom to unfold ourselves?
