Monika's weekly inner voice drawings:
Q: What is today's wisdom?
A: "Man is most nearly himself when he achieves the seriousness of a child at play.
- Heraclitus
"Don't be afraid of opposition. Remember, a kite rises against, not with the wind."
- Hamilton Wright Mable
Opposition, or tension, is a favorite dynamic of mine. It is the dual dueling in evolution's flight toward harmony, balance, and union. Flying a kite is the intention-- or intendere in Latin, for stretching-- to transcend the limits and boundaries of the physical world, including embodiment. But, transcendence doesn't exclude the body; it includes the body and the tension that goes with it as part of the celebration of evolution. So, go fly a kite!
ReplyDeleteI love these two quotes together. I have fused them into a single message: Playfully engage your conflict.
ReplyDeleteWhere I see the conflict, or feel it, to greet it, wrestle/play with precise attention to untangle the rope and let the kite soar. It's a play that requires focus and spontaneity. The intention is freedom, and release from confusion.
"Don't be afraid of opposition." Thank you, Monica!
Paul, thank you for picking up the string and letting the kite of your mind fly freely ... and making me smile :)
ReplyDeleteCatherine, beautifully put; nothing to add, just keep the kite flying :)
